MADISEN OBIEDO · EXECUTIVE & LEADERSHIP COACH
I coach leaders in the private, public, and social sectors who are looking to make significant changes in their professional lives.
My practice especially resonates with ambitious clients who find themselves in what I call “career fog.” The immediate path ahead is hazy, but they sense a change is needed and feel an internal pull to shift. They may want to lead teams with more authenticity, pursue a new leadership opportunity with confidence, secure a more fulfilling role, or clarify what they want out of their next chapter.
Our work together is getting the fog to lift, so intentional action toward client goals becomes possible.
Prior to coaching, I spent 15 years leading teams in the private sector after starting my career in the non-profit sector in Chiapas, Mexico. My career has been its own journey of change and transformation, starting with professional services firms and moving into mission-driven startups before launching my own practice.
I most recently built the partnerships function at Crux, a capital platform that is modernizing financing for clean and critical infrastructure. I grew partnerships from a promising early hypothesis to a high-performing, repeatable revenue engine. To date, Crux has facilitated billions of dollars of investment into clean energy projects and grown to over 150 employees.
Before Crux, I led strategy and partnerships for Welcome Tech, a social enterprise that connects the U.S. immigrant community to critical resources, including banking and workforce development solutions. I built the company’s first B2B offering and established its first partnerships program, with a focus on scaling both mission and business outcomes.
I entered the startup space after building foundational analytical and team-building muscles at Bain’s San Francisco office and Kekst CNC. At each firm, I led teams advising Fortune 500 and private equity clients on complex business challenges and learned how to lead effectively under pressure. Both roles taught me how to have a productive relationship with external expectations and what it means to create effective boundaries.
I hold a BA from Brown University and an MBA along with a Certificate in Public Management & Social Innovation from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
“Working with Madisen was invaluable during a big career and life transition. She helped me rigorously evaluate what truly mattered for my next steps while ensuring I closed out my previous role constructively (using the opportunity to experiment with new practices, and capturing the lessons learned to inform what’s next). Madisen consistently challenged my thinking, helping me identify root motivations and push past mental roadblocks to move forward with clarity. I highly recommend working with Madisen whether you’re navigating career shifts or seeking fresh perspective on life transitions.”
